There are moments in life that transform us, challenge us beyond what we  ever imagined and while the navigating is hard with support and guidance we can find our way.

Kelly Gehlhaar is a graduate of University of California, San Diego and attended San Diego State University for her Master's in Social Work. Early in her career she worked primarily with children, facilitating school groups and providing play and art therapy. Kelly has founded and run several women's groups in San Diego, speaking on topics such resiliency and self care from a biblical perspective.

Kelly is passionate about bereavement and art therapy due in part to her own grief journey. She has extensive training in the expressive arts and utilizing creativity to facilitate the healing process. More recently, Kelly has worked in Hospice Bereavement as a grief counselor and art therapist supporting patients, and their families and friends and providing groups and events for the community at large.  She currently works per diem at The Elizabeth Hospice in the pediatric unit as an art therapist and counselor supporting young patients, siblings and their families.

Kelly specializes in grief and loss, stress management, life transitions, anxiety, and depression. She enjoys working with children, teens and adults of all ages as they face a variety of obstacles to their normal patterns of resilience. Whether it be facing the death of a loved one, grieving after a loss, recovering from divorce or navigating other big life transitions, Kelly provides a warm, caring and safe space to process, sort through the changes to identity and help find a creative and balanced approach to today's living and the path ahead.
