Mary Ellen Bennett, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 23 years of experience working in the behavioral health field. She received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Masters Degree in Social Work from San Diego State University.

Since 2000, she has been teaching clients Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills in individual therapy and group settings. In addition, she also has experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She has assisted her clients with increasing their awareness of their automatic negative thoughts, the emotions that result from the distorted thoughts, and has taught them ways to counter balance their distorted thought patterns in order to lessen the negative impact on their life.

Mary Ellen has an empathic, compassionate approach, but is direct when necessary. She has experience in working with clients with anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, grief/loss issues, stress management, parenting issues, women’s issues, and problems with adjusting to life transitions.
